Heavy breathing obscured any words that attempted to escape your throat as heavy waves of heat from the physical exertion rendered you almost immobile.

Your partner in crime was currently hovering over your helpless figure, fingers wiggling tauntingly before diving in for the kill, causing a surprised yelp to escape your mouth.

"Cr-Cro-" you couldn't even manage to speak his name properly, stuttering over the syllables much like he did when he became flustered and his accent became thick. Drawing in a shuttering breath through clenched teeth, you attempted one last hurrah and wrapped your legs around his narrow hips, using the shock your movements had clearly caused him to your advantage and twisted your body until you both had flipped on your sides, giving you the perfect opportunity to domineer over him. You pushed up on your hands and knees and pinned him underneath you, trapping him in a cage of limbs while staring him down with a devious smirk.

"N-nowv, Kitten," it was the Highblood's turn to become nervous, and a victorious laugh bubbled up inside of you as a bright violet began to dust along his cheekbones.

"What's wrong, Cronus?" you asked innocently, tilting your head in question. Your hair fell in your face from the action, casting a dark shadow across your eyes, and Cronus would be a liar if he said you didn't have prowess. You were a complete femme fatale in his eyes. You let your own fingers float downwards, trailing down his clothed sides, stopping once your fingertips brushed over the grub scars right along his rib-cage, causing him to tense and hiss under you.

"(Y/n)...," he groaned out, subconsciously arching his spine upwards. "You're wvalking on thin ice there, babe."

Well, you knew that. During your Troll lingo lessons, as well as the countless hours of studying their alphabet, Cronus had also taught you a thing or two about Troll anatomy. Mainly, the differences between Human and Troll bodies, erogenous zones included. To say that was an embarrassing topic to approach would be an understatement, but nevertheless, you were very thoroughly educated now. Your little screw up of a best friend just didn't realize at the time what kind of compromising situations entrusting you with information like that would end him up in.

Allowing your fingers to abandon his sides, much to his relief and slight chagrin at the way your touch had provoked him, they danced their way upwards, stopping just at the collar of his white t-shirt, hovering over the base of his throat, dangerously close to the almost unnoticeable gills slitting along the sides of his neck. You gauged his reaction carefully as he squirmed uncomfortably underneath you, watching as his eyes widened the slightest of a fraction when the tips of your pinkies brushed against the sensitive openings.

This had clearly escalated far beyond the tickle fight it had once been.

A light, almost non-existent rapping against the front door of his hive knocked you back into your senses, and thankfully, the troll on the other side of the door had enough humility to wait for an invitation to enter, allotting you enough time to scramble off of Cronus, who remained sprawled out on the floor, limbs splayed in a comical fashion.

Wait-they were waiting to be invited in?

Oh no!

"Cronus!" you hissed out through your teeth, a panicked look taking over your face. You flailed your arms about, pointing back and forth between yourself and the door. "Outside...waiting....me, I mean...look!"

Cronus pushed himself up on his elbows, eyes raking over your frantic form and a devilish smirk twisted his mouth, the tips of his pointed teeth poking out from under his darker gray lips.

"Dollface," he drawled out, his innate accent shining through and allowing an unbidden shudder to roll down your spine.

"Cronus, Kankri is outside!" you whispered harshly, realizing, without remorse, that you had completely ignored the fact that Cronus had been trying to talk to you. You tugged at your hair, fingers tangling desperately in (h/c) locks. "Kankri is outside, and look at me. Cronus, what do I do?"

"Kitten..."

"There is no way I have time to change, and I can't sneak out."

"Babe..."

"Wait, I've got it! I can hide some-"

"(Y/n)!" Cronus had finally had enough of being interrupted and raised his voice. Well, there's no way you could hide now; Kankri would have heard that outburst, no doubt, and know you were in there with Cronus. To which, if you did try to hide, he'd possibly find that extremely triggering and seek you out in order to give you the lecture of a lifetime. He crossed his arms over his chest when he saw you huff in agitation, sinewy arms flexing with the movement. "Nowv, are you going to be quiet and listen to me, or do I havwe to invwite Rant-ass in here right nowv?" He felt the slightest twinge of pity when he saw the look of pure despair cross your visage, but he also knew it was the only way to ensure he had your complete, almost undivided attention. "Clearly, the wvhole hiding idea is really stupid. Not to mention busted."

"Yeah, thanks to you," you muttered under your breath, clamping your mouth shut once more when you saw him quirk a black brow at your defiance.

"I'll pretend that I didn't hear that. But, anywvays Kitten, you're beautiful." By now, he had lifted himself from the ground and was approaching you slowly, unfurling his arms. "And, I knowv wve'vwe had that talk before, hm?" You nodded in response, lowering your head as he only continued to come closer. "I also knowv you're meaning to only, somehowv, enter a pale relationship wvith him, but shit, (Y/n), you're torturing yourself like this." He stood in front of you, towering over you at a great height, his blank eyes somehow expressing so much emotion as he brought up a clawed hand to cup your face, fingertips sliding gently against (s/c) flesh, being wary of the pointed claws. "I'vwe wvished, for swveeps, that I could havwe been born different. Instead of being hatched from a fucking egg, that I could havwe been human. And here you are, trying to covwer it up and become one of us....hideous freaks." The last words came out as a half hiss, half growl.

You pulled back from him at his statement, but not before gripping one of his larger hands in both of yours tightly.

"Cronus Ampora, that is not true, and you know it!" you released his hand and raised yours to his face, similar to the manner in which he just had, but you cupped his face between both of your palms, turning his head to force him to look at you. At least, you hoped he was looking at you right now. "Cronus, you are a beautiful being. All of you are. Well, okay, I don't really know about your descendant," he snorted with dry amusement at your statement and your lips twitched with the beginnings of a smile. "Follow me." A hand slid along his arm, sliding into his own and wrapping around chilled digits and you tugged him along behind you to the very room that steeped most of your arguments.

Outside of the elaborate hive, a very puzzled troll stood.

"Well, this is quite 9dd," Kankri shifted his weight between his feet as confusion swept through him. "I merely came here 9n the n9ti9n 9f speaking with Cr9nus, 6ut I c9uld've sw9rn I just heard (Y/t/n) in there with him." His companion sighed for, what seemed like, the one billionth time since they had made the trek to their sessions Ampora's hive.

"Kanny, that is because (Y/t/n) lives with Cro+nus. We have been o+ver this befo+re. Quite a few times, actually," she added under her breath, much to the shorter trolls displeasure.

"P9rrim, d9 y9u kn9w h9w triggering it can 6e t9wards 9thers if y9u mum6le like that? Please, if y9u have s9mething t9 say, speak up. Unless it has to deal with th9se the9ry-6ased views 9f y9urs, in which case we can discuss th9se at a m9re appr9priate time. Triggers may include-,"

"Triggers are go+ing to+ include me kicking yo+ur tall-pantsed ass if yo+u tag any triggers, Kankri Vantas." The tattooed jade blood turned towards him, wagging a scolding finger in his face. "We did no+t co+me here fo+r yo+u to+ push yo+ur biased, no+nsensical wo+rds upo+n me." She dropped the subject there, her tone offering no room for rebuttal, no matter how much the red sweater wearing troll wanted to. Because, he knew she was right. Not that he would ever admit to that. She extended her hand towards the doorknob, twisting in test to see if it was unlocked. It wasn't, much to her displeasure, seeing as how the two trolls inside seemingly refused to greet their company. "Perhaps we sho+uld co+me back at ano+ther time?"

The Cancerian didn't show any outward emotion, having stuck to his resolve of being quite impassive in most all situations, but inside, he was wrought with anxiety. He knew far too well what kind of troll Cronus was, and how trigger-inciting of a flirt the Aqurian greaser was. And, despite him not knowing much about you whatsoever, he couldn't help but be, even the slightest bit, concerned for your well-being. But still, against his "better" judgement, he nodded in agreement with his companion, not wishing to trigger her any further than he presumed he already had, seeing as how she had already effortlessly resorted to threatening.

The two departed without another word.

"Look."

You stood in front of a very wide mirror, the very one that you slaved hours in front of perfecting your appearance every single morning, exhausted eyes searching painstakingly for any flaws. But now, your (e/c) orbs were examining the reflection that joined you, taking in every detail about him. His skin was pallid, but not in a sickly fashion; his skin was lighter than some, especially Kankri's, taking on a more chalky gray tone. Not one flaw marred it, save for the odd scar in the upper corner of his forehead, which was just a slightly darker shade. Fingers flitted along his defined jawline and sunk into soft locks of black, the inky color a shock against your skin. He was known to always have his hair slicked back in the typical greaser style, but you knew basically every side of him, and that included that rough and ruffled. With trepidatious fingers, you combed through his hair, loosening the gelled hold on it and releasing the wavy tendrils, allowing them to fall across his forehead and curl lightly around your knuckles.

"Wvhat are you doing?" He sounded exasperated, if not a bit agitated, feeling as though your actions at the moment were quite catty.

"Trying to show you what you're obviously picking to be blind to, Cro," you whispered out. "Do you not see how completely perfect you are?" The roles of you two had been reversed; you were new to this whole comforting thing in regards to someone like Cronus. It was always him gathering you against him, placing strategic kisses against your painted skin and trying to shove reinforcement into your mind. Your mouth dipped in a frown when you saw him shake his head, lowering his eyes and holding his hands out in front of him, turning them over several times before suddenly gripping your own, which had still been tangled in his hair, and holding it out with his.

Stinging tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as you watched him, and when you looked up, you were only minutely surprised to see the violet pooling in his eyes.

"How odd how the roles have changed."

He lifted his head to meet your determined gaze, intent on questioning what it was that you had mumbled under your breath, but was stunned into silence as your warm lips came into contact with the cold skin of his cheek. Not missing a beat, you pulled back from him and held onto his arms with a death grip strong enough to rival Horuss' descendant, Equius.

"When I look at you, I see someone who is flawless. Someone with a beating heart," you allowed a hand to slip forward to his chest, resting right over his heart, feeling it beat at a slightly abnormal fast pace underneath your palm, but figured it must be normal for him. "Just like mine." In your current position, you were pressed right up against the troll's arm, and were more than certain that he should be able to feel your erratic heartbeat that was currently tattooing a symphony against your rib-cage. "We both have two eyes-"

"And it just so happens that mine are solid wvhite, in case you missed that, (Y/n)," he quipped bitterly.

You smacked his arm.

"Don't interrupt me! Now, as I was saying." You moved to stand right beside him, mimicking his position exactly. "Look. Even our bodies are exactly alike. Except, I'm just really short compared to you," you tried to bring light into the current mood by ending your sentence with an airy laugh, but when you were met with his stoic face yet again, you clenched your teeth. "Cronus, there's nothing wrong with you. Just because you have gray skin and I have (s/c) doesn't make us any less the same."

"That's not it, (Y/n)!" By this point, he was in a clear rage. You had never seen him so angry before, and if you were being honest, it slightly frightened you. You recoiled from him as he continued to yell. "I'm a fucking dead alien wvho also happens to be part fish? Wvhat the hell is perfect about that?!"

That was it. You'd about had it with his constant dissing himself, whether he genuinely believed all of the crazy nonsense he spewed about himself or not, it was driving you insane. He had pushed your patience far over the edge.

"You know what, Cronus? Fine! If you want to believe that crap, then go right ahead! Maybe that's why Meenah keeps rejecting you; all you literally do is flirt a ridiculous amount and talk bad about yourself. Do you honestly think that anyone would want to be with someone so negative? Even Kankri isn't this pessimistic-and trust me, I know, because I've listened to some very 'bring-you-down' lectures from him-and he's a mutant!"

Cronus eyes had gone wide when you raised your voice at him, but slowly, they narrowed, anger broiling inside of him. It was one thing for you be irate with him, but for you to poor salt in the always fresh wound of being rejected by the troll he had a massive flushcrush for, and on top of that, bring Kankri Vantas into literally every conversation you had with him, crossed the line.

The air rushed out of your lungs as you were forced up against the wall, becoming trapped in a cage of arms.

"You knowv, (Y/n), I'm getting real sick and tired of your shit."

Before you could question what he meant, or even before you could get angry at his ludicrous statement, your words were silenced beneath the crushing force of a bruising kiss.

Your eyes went wide, staring at Cronus's rage filled face, his own eyes shut, and tears you hadn't been aware of spilled over onto your now icy feeling cheeks.

"How odd how the roles have changed."

I'm not marking this as mature. It has some cussing, so be warned

So, anyways! Did anyone get all pervy in the beginning? :iconpervycronusplz: I swear, I don't think I know what I am doing with this story. I'm figuring it out as I go. And this entire chapter was meant to bring light on reader-chan and Cronus's relationship...

:bulletblue: For my readers' of Death Becomes Them (if you're reading this), Chapters 4&5 will be posted tomorrow! It's taken longer with that because of story-line issues. I don't want to rush things~

I'm also working vigorously on those requests :D

This is wonderfully written. I cannot wait for the next chapter if there is one.
